A Kid's Guide to Virginia State Parks
From a kid's point of view
Being a kid means we can go just about anywhere and have fun. You say we are not motivated and couch potatoes, but take us outside to a Virginia State Park and see what we do.
Just to help you get motivated to take us to a park, let us show you in pictures how we like to have a good time at Virginia State Parks. Here are some of the things we like to do, now pay attention class.
It's time to take our advice, we're kids and we have a lot to say about fun
We like to fish (yes girls like to fish too!)
You think we are kidding?
We like to watch tadpoles (and catch them when you aren't looking)
We may even find something larger than a tadpole (we won't get warts, don't worry Mom!)
We think this is pretty cool
But you have to let us paddle, we're not helpless, this is how we learn stuff
We really dig this
Especially when it leads to this
We definitely like this guy, Ranger Parker Redfox at Railroad Day
In the summertime we get to explore the parks from the water, we really love this
We said we like programs, but sometimes we would rather be free to have fun on our own, and we know we're just kids and a handful, but we think everyone should have fun (even you)
One of our favorite things ever is to ride around the campground loop and make new friends, don't worry we'll be back in time for dinner (at least for s'mores and might bring somebody with us)
We still love to ride with you and Gramps, and if you might consider taking our training wheels off when we're big enough, you might be surprised to see what we can do
It's okay to let us play with fire, we love making s'mores on a campfire with our family and friends
And in case you forget, you have no idea how much we love spending time with you outside, we like to show you the neat things we find on the trail
We aren't hard to please, we are kids and we can have fun anywhere (especially with our cousins)
A FEW WORDS
In a nutshell we want to go to Virginia State Parks to explore and have adventures. We also want to spend time with you, making s'mores, hiking, biking, swimming, and telling scary stories around the campfire. We like to eat outside, and enjoy some of the things we can even cook ourselves like hotdogs over a real fire, when we go to a state park.
We have a lot of fun with our cousins, grandparents and even our little brothers and sisters.
We want to get our hands dirty, catch tadpoles, frogs, and butterflies. If a park program lets us touch a snake, it is okay, really, we want to. We also want to hang out with other kids, and learn new things. We want to skip stones, we want to swim and splash and use our outside voices. A little sunburn won't hurt us.
These are the reasons we like to visit Virginia State Parks, and we think good reasons for you to take us there.
