Love Story: Just One More Christmas

Spending time in a cabin at a Virginia State Park is a special story to us

Just One More Christmas
Back several years after my father in law had a sudden heart attack and my mother in law was in the stages of Alzheimer's, we had to have one more Christmas at home for grandma. My daughter gave up her career after grad school to stay and keep her grandma at home.
We promised we would always come home to have the loved ones together for Christmas, and for grandma who is in her 80's.
We love cabin living with the relaxed days, the fireplaces, the sitting around and playing cards and board games like the old days.
Grandma asked "Is this our new home?" but laughs at everything and tells us she loves us but does not remember when we moved. We try on her happy thought "This is our vacation time Christmas at the cabin."
We have stayed in cabins in West Virginia, Tennessee and Virginia. National Tunnel State Park being one of our favorites, but enjoying all. So to us Virginia State Parks has a place in our heart, and just one more Christmas with Grandma.
