Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

11 a.m. - Hike with a Ranger Opt to be outside and join a ranger on a guided hike on their favorite trail. View unique natural and historic areas normally not seen while milling along the parks trails. Free

2 p.m. - A Gawk in the Woods Join a ranger on a scavenger hunt to find all of the colors, shapes and sizes that are found in nature. How many will you find? This is a great program for children and families. Free

Self-Guided Activities: Go on the Natural Tunnel Photo Scavenger Hunt or discover the common trees in the park on a self-guided 1 mile hike. Brochures for both activities can be picked up at the Visitor Center or Park Office.
