Join us for an Independence Day to remember at FLSP! We will be conducting free educational programming throughout the day for beachgoers. Look for the tent at the end of the Main Boardwalk. See the schedule below for program details:

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Star Spangled Crafts - Let your imagination run wild in this seaside crafting session. We will have several projects to choose from - then take your creations home!

3 p.m. Knee Deep Nets - Come down to the beach for an exploration of life under the water as we take our seine nets into the Bay and get to know local marine animals. Be prepared to get wet!

5 p.m. A Sandy Stroll - Get your toes in the sand and head out of the sand on this relaxing and informative stewardship themed beach walk. We will discuss Bay geology, resident plants and animals, and practice identifying shellfish while guests participate in optional beach clean-up activities.

7 p.m. Red, White, and Blue Crabs - In this classic summer catch and release program, find out all about the Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab and why it is so essential to the environment and the livelihood of Bay culture. Then try to catch a few on your own! (Stop by The Cape Store to purchase a crab line and bait).
