Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Night Before Christmas Wagon Ride and Story

December 20, 2019. 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Bring a warm blanket, your singing voice, a sense of humor, and the family - young and old. We will sing holiday songs while taking a wagon ride through the winter woods. After the ride we will return to the visitor center for hot chocolate and a reading of the classic holiday story, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. It's only $3 per person or $8 for the whole family. Parking Fee is $5. To make a reservation, please call 540-663-3861, or stop by the Visitor Center. Paid reservations are required as space is limited.
