Spring Volunteer Opportunities at Widewater State park

Fancy a spot of volunteering this Spring? 

Saturday, April 25th : Waterway Cleanups Spring Cleanup on the Aquia Creek 

Join this Stafford-based non-profit as they help keep Aquia Creek clean of trash and debris via kayaks in their Spring cleanup at the park. All paddle equipment is provided by the park.

Saturday, May 2nd : Clean the Bay Day

You can help our rangers on Clean the Bay Day 2026 by volunteering at one of our two cleanup opportunities listed below. Both help keep our waterways clear of trash and debris, so choose the one that scratches your litter-patrol itch!

- Waterway cleanup registration: Aquia Creek

- Shoreline cleanup registration: Potomac River

Sunday, May 3rd : Native Plant Garden Planning, Weeding, & Planting

Come join our rangers and Master Gardeners as we plan, weed, and install native plants at Widewater's Native Plant Garden next to the Visitor Center! make sure to bring gardening gloves, water, and sunscreen.
