Take a hike with a park ranger and fellow nature-enthusiasts through the park's beautiful forests and meadows! The park ranger will bring your surroundings to life with the fascinating history of the land and interpretation of flora and fauna observed along the trail. Each month features a different route; see details below.
What to expect:
Please wear close-toed shoes, sun protection, bring plenty of water, and snacks. Trails vary from 2.5-4 miles through both open meadow and shaded forest. Dress for the weather and be prepared to hike for up to 3 hours over uneven terrain in all weather conditions, with the exception of thunderstorms.
Coyote Trail: 4 miles, mostly flat through primarily open meadows and a few patches of forest.
Turkey-River-Gold Dust Trails: 2.5 miles, partially flat with several moderate hills through primarily forest and some open meadow.
Cabin-Big Woods Trails: 4 miles, partially flat with a few moderate hills through primarily forest and some open meadow.
Big Woods-Pine Trails: 3 miles, mostly flat with a few gentle hills through primarily forest and some open meadow.
