Volunteer Call to Service Earth Day Event: Transplanting Rivercane + Trash Pickup

April 22, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Join us on Earth Day to help restore some of the natural habitat at the Ivanhoe Birding Trail. Everyone is welcome on this volunteer day.

Meet at 9 a.m. at the Ivanhoe access for a shuttle to the Ivanhoe Birding Trail.

Volunteer tasks include transplanting Rivercane and trash pickup.

We will provide the tools and training on how to use them. Please wear closed-toes shoes and bring work gloves, water, and snacks. Children ages 14 and older are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian. Email Katie Myers at Katie.Myers@dcr.virginia.gov or call 276-266-8037 with any questions.
