May 16, 2026. 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Come to Staunton River Battlefield State Park and learn the basics of archery! This class will teach you how to properly hold a bow, correct stance, how to aim, and most importantly, how to be safe while doing so. We will have all the equipment to help you learn how to safely and effectively shoot archery. This program will be held in the field beside the Clover Visitor Center and is suitable for ages 10 and up. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
