Guided Hike: Pollinator Habitats

Where
Program Location: Trailhead of River Trail (Primitive Campground)
Main Park Address: Powhatan State Park, 4616 Powhatan State Park Rd., Powhatan, VA 23139.
When
June 6, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Take a guided hike through a wide variety of habitats where pollinators roam: riverside forest, native meadow, upland hardwood forests, and the "edge habitat" in between! Along the way, a park ranger will assist you in spotting and identifying the many kinds of butterflies, birds, bees, and the flowering plants that they prefer.
This hike is about 2.5 miles with several moderate inclines along both shaded and open meadow trails. We recommend wearing sun protection, close-toed shoes, and bringing lots of water. After the hike, we invite you to join Nature Journaling: Pollinators at 1 p.m. to record the plants and creatures you saw during your hike.
Please register to let us know you're coming. While not required for this program, it is recommended! If you register, we will be able to contact you if the program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
