Join a ranger for a fun scavenger hunt along the Oak Hickory Trail (1.1mi loop).
On our adventure we will look for different plants and animals that are found throughout the park. How many will you see?
Meet at the Shelter 4 parking area field at 1 p.m. and stroll for as long as you like. Please bring water and appropriate shoes for the hike. This event is for National Kids to Parks Day, but all ages are welcome to join!
About National Kids to Parks Day
Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
