February Volunteer Workday: Recycled Holiday Tree Deployment Day

Location of Claytor Lake State Park in Virginia

Where

Claytor Lake State Park, 6620 Ben H. Bolen Dr., Dublin, VA 24084.
Water's Edge Meeting Facility

When

Feb. 11, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Help us deploy holiday trees into the water for years of great fishing at Claytor Lake. Donated trees will be incorporated into reef structures to enhance habitat for game fish. Learn more about this. You can also observe similar habitat currently in use at Claytor Lake on the underwater webcam.

This work involves moving and loading trees, moving cinder blocks, and possibly helping deposit the trees into the lake. Volunteers for this event should meet at the Water's Edge Meeting Facility at 9 a.m. Depending on the total number of trees, the end time could end as late as 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Friends of Claytor Lake (FOCL).

For more details and to sign up to volunteer click HERE. If inclement weather is in the forecast, the event will be rescheduled to January 12th.
