Join us every second Saturday at the Mayo River Trails to explore the future Mayo River State Park. You will also discover some interesting facts about local wildlife, and about the exploration of the area by William Byrd. We will alternate monthly between the Redbud Trail and the Mayo River Trail, so hiking times will vary. The Redbud Trail is approximately 1.5mi long. The Mayo River Trail, plus Byrd's Loop, is approximately four miles long.

April/June/August/October - Redbud Trail

May/July/September/November - Mayo River Trail

To reach the parking lot from Route 58, turn onto the Horsepasture-Price Road at The Old Country Store and travel 3.6 miles to Moore's Mill Road. Turn right on Moore's Mill and travel 4.4 miles to Pratt Road. Turn left on Pratt Road and travel 0.5 miles to the trailhead parking lot. The address is 500 Pratt Road, Spencer, VA 24165. The parking lot is located at the end of a cul-de-sac on your right.
