Join a Ranger at the Visitor Center for story time! We’ll meet on the lawn and enjoy a short story about different animals that live within the park and their habitats! Feel free to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on while listening or even have a picnic. This National Kids to Parks Day event is presented for ages 2-6 years old, but all ages are welcome to join!

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
