This weekend only, step inside the Visitor Center for a vivid look into the lives of Civil War cavalrymen through their own words. This program highlights letters, diary entries, and firsthand accounts that reveal the daily realities of mounted soldiers, their long rides, moments of fear, unexpected humor, and the bonds that carried them through hardship. Visitors will hear the voices of troopers as they wrote about their horses, their duties, their encounters on campaign, and the emotional weight of life in the saddle. An enriching and human centered program that brings cavalry service to life. Stop by the Visitor Center and speak to a ranger anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to start this program.
