Witness the Geminids Meteor Shower, one of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year. High Bridge offers a dark, horizon to horizon star field for viewing the vibrant meteors as they streak across the night sky. Conditions can get cold, so bundle up.
High Bridge Trail State Park's astronomy events are held near the center of High Bridge where the view of the star field is unobstructed. When walking onto the bridge structure, visitors should turn off any flashlights that do not employ a red filter. The event is free, but Virginia State Park parking fees apply. The only access to High Bridge for this event is by way of Camp Paradise.
