"Hibernation is a covert preparation for a more overt action." - Ralph Ellison

For the last month of Autumn, homeschoolers will learn about all the ways that different animal species prepare for the cold winter days ahead. From the great bird migrations, to reptiles and mammals hiding away in the earth, every species has their own way of dealing with the plummeting temperatures and lack of food.

*Note: The same program is offered twice a week, on Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon.

Mondays, 11AM-12PM

11/3 : Migration

11/10 : Brumation (amphibians & reptiles)

11/17 : Hibernation

Wednesdays, 1PM-2PM

11/5 : Migration

11/12 : Brumation (amphibians & reptiles)

11/19 : Hibernation

As the days are getting shorter and the weather becomes cooler, make sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Hikes and other outdoor activities should be anticipated for any of these programs.
