For the first month of homeschool, visitors will learn about the hidden lives of scavengers: nature's clean-up crew! From removing roadkill and human waste, to breaking down trees to become the very building blocks of life, scavengers of all kinds play important roles in our ecosystems. 

*Note: The same program is offered twice a week, on Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon. 

 

Mondays, 11AM-12PM

9/8 : Vultures

9/15 : Detritivores

9/22 : Fungi

9/29 : "Trash Trio" - Opossums, Raccoons, & Skunks

 

Wednesdays, 1PM-2PM

9/10 : Vultures

9/17 : Detritivores

9/24 : Fungi

10/1 : "Trash Trio" - Opossums, Raccoons, & Skunks

 

As the days are getting shorter and the weather becomes cooler, make sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Hikes and other outdoor activities should be anticipated for any of these programs.
