Join us for a special gathering around the campfire, enjoy the harmonious sounds of nature, dive into some delicious s'mores, and learn about the nocturnal park residents of Westmoreland. Who will we focus on? Bats? Bobcats? Opossums? Raccoons? Eastern Screech Owls? Gray fox? Red fox?

The tradition of a campfire is ancient, and we welcome you to meet us where the flames beckon.

Every September, during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, Virginia State Parks offers a variety of programs to connect Girl Scouts with nature while earning badges. From guided hikes and plant identification to campfire building and backpacking basics, this special weekend helps Girl Scouts learn outdoor skills, build confidence and become advocates for the environment.
