Where

Program Location: Douge Trailhead
Main Park Address: Mason Neck State Park, 7301 High Point Rd., Lorton, VA 22079.

Sept. 14, 2025. 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Northern Virginia is rich in history, and Mason Neck is no exception. Come on a guided hike with a ranger to learn about thousands of years of history behind the Mason Neck Peninsula. We will enjoy a casual 1-mile hike while discussing the indigenous people that lived at Mason Neck, the park's history from European contact through modern day conservation efforts.  The Dogue Trail is primarily flat, with hard-packed dirt, making it suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended.  Please pack enough water for the duration.

If you would like to reserve and use the park's all-terrain wheelchair for this hike, please click here and follow the instructions. Reservations must be made at least  48 hours in advance.
