The ranger will help you look for ripe fruits that have fallen and are ready to eat! You'll get the knowledge you need to fully appreciate these delicious fruits while respecting the forest habitat and leaving plenty for others.

The walk will be less than two miles on a mostly flat trail. Please bring water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Register here to let us know you're coming. We will contact you if the program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Foraging at Powhatan State Park must adhere to Virginia State Parks regulations. If you plan on foraging without a ranger, you must call ahead and receive verbal permission: (804)212-5675.
