Program Location: Big Meadow Trailhead
Main Park Address: Westmoreland State Park, 145 Cliff Road, Montross, VA 22520.
When
Aug. 18, 2025. 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
"Ask a Ranger" is a program designed to provide more opportunities for the community to ask questions and have conversations with our park rangers. We will cover different themes throughout the year. For this installment, we'll be focusing on fossils.
If you’ve been considering a hike to Fossil Beach, but want a little more insight into the how and why of this fossiliferous resource, consider coming out on the morning of August 18th. A ranger will be stationed at the head of Big Meadows Trail from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to provide those insights and answer any questions you might have.
