Grayson Highlands State Park, 829 Grayson Highland Ln., Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363.
Visitor Center

When

July 12, 2025. 8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Who are these stealthy hunters of the night? We will explore the different kinds of owls that can be found at the park. Join us for a short walk in the fading daylight in hopes of catching a barred owl's call. Those wanting to dissect an owl pellet can do so for a $2 per pellet fee. We will be walking less than a mile on relatively even terrain on the Listening Rock trail.

Meet the ranger in the gravel parking lot below the Visitor Center. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring a flashlight or headlamp for the way back. This program is subject to cancellation due to weather.
