Discover how fire was used by Virginia’s First Peoples to fell trees and build canoes, followed by a tasty treat Participants will get to try their hand at making fire using both the bow drill and flint and steel. They will also have the opportunity to scrape out a burned log and contribute to the creation of a dugout canoe! Recommended for participants ages 8+. All supplies provided. Program and s’mores supplies will accommodate up to 15 participants per program. Please pre-register to ensure proper amounts of supplies. Park at the Cartop Boat Launch parking lot and follow the signs to the outdoor classroom.
