This week's theme for Junior Rangers is Insects & Plants. We will be checking out the wonderful world of insects, looking at live moths, and making a butterfly craft. We will also be exploring the homestead area. This program is designed for ages 5-8.

Outdoor and weather appropriate clothing must be worn as we will be exploring the park; getting dirty and wet are both strong possibilities. Closed-toed shoes are required every day. Please don't forget to bring a snack and a reusable water bottle, as well as apply sunscreen and bug spray before the program begins.

Pre-registration and $10 payment are required in advance. Payment covers participation for all four sessions and is non-refundable. You can register by calling the Park Office during work hours at (276) 579-7092. If you are registering more than one child, please reserve the appropriate number of spots. Payment can also be completed over the phone or in-person by stopping by at the Park Office.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early as we will need the parent/guardian to fill out an emergency contact form for their child. An adult listed on the emergency contact form must sign the child in/out, and a valid photo ID must be presented.

If you are camping, drop your kids off with the rangers for a couple hours and enjoy a kid free hike.
