Our animal ambassador Maverick, a native corn snake, enjoys helping people learn that snakes aren't all that scary, and in fact are very good for the environment! While meeting him, you will learn about the different native snake species in Virginia; how snakes help keep pest populations down; and how to tell the difference between a corn snake and the only venomous snake in this part of Virginia, a copperhead. 

This program is inside of the Visitor Center and will begin promptly at 2:00pm.
