Meet the Trees ID Walk

Have you ever bumped into one of our tall bark-covered residents and wondered who it is you've just run into? Come on a walk to get a formal introduction. Led by a local tree expert, naturalist, and humorous storyteller, Don Smith, this program is an introduction to the fascinating and whimsical world of tree identification. You're likely to learn new things and laugh along the way.

What to expect: After meeting for a brief talk at the picnic shelter, the walk will be at a slow pace on a flat forested trail for 1-1.5 hours with frequent stopping to meet the trees along the way. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes, bring plenty of water and your own curiosity. Dogs are welcome (must be on a 6-foot leash) and this route can be accessed by strollers as well as the park's all-terrain wheelchair (which can be reserved 48 hours in advance using the online reservation system).

While registration is not required for this program, it is recommended! If you register, we will be able to contact you if the program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
