Celebrate Hungry Mother State Park Lead Naturalist "Ranger" Avery Smith's last program at the park with a collection of his greatest hits. Gather together and enjoy an educating evening of live animal entertainment and reptile information culminating in the telling of the classic Appalachian spooky story, "Tailypo."

About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day®, an annual event sponsored by the American Hiking Society encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
