May 17, 2025. 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Families can join rangers for fun nature activities on Kids to Park Day! Starting at 1 PM in the Victorian Garden, a ranger led Junior Tree Identification workshop will take participants around the Museum’s grounds, with activities for kids ages 4 and up. Children will learn the basics of identifying trees by their leaves, seeds, and bark, using their senses to notice what makes the trees different or similar. Each participant will receive an activity packet on tree identification, including coloring sheets, and a Jr. Ranger badge sticker!
In addition, self-guided Junior Historical booklets and a Junior Bug Hunt journaling packets will be available at the Museum's front desk between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. This booklet will encourage children to take a close look at the world around them to collect descriptions of the tiny members of our natural world. This packet will also contain coloring sheets and fun facts about some insects we might encounter in the park. A boy enjoying Kids to Park Day
