Come out to Chestnut Creek along the Cliffview Campground, get your feet wet, and explore life underwater! Using the creek as a laboratory, a ranger will lead the search under rocks for aquatic life and discover how these critters can help us determine the health of the stream. Wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet and bring a change of clothes. This program is weather permitting, so check the website for any cancellations.

Meeting location: Meet a ranger at the bridge near the parking lot.

After this program, a ranger will hold a FREE Campfire program from 6-7 p.m. along at the Cliffview Campground. Drop by the campfire to relax, meet your camping neighbors, enjoy time sharing stories, and learn about critters that call New River Trail State Park home. No need to be a camper to join; bring the family and enjoy an evening under the stars amongst the glow of a fire.
