Help celebrate The International Day of Forests, which was established on the 21st day of March, by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on November 28, 2013.
Come along on a guided walk to imagine life as a tree. Is it time to draw on your reserves of sugars and starches and begin to bud? Do you need to direct your root growth to increase stability on eroding slopes?
The walk will be about a mile over moderate terrain with some slopes among broad-leaf tree species. We'll also meet the conifers. Evergreen or deciduous, all trees have survival instincts and connections to consider.
At 11:30 a 20-minute stationary presentation of the walk topic will be provided at the Lakeside Snack Bar. The Snack Bar is universally accessible and immediately adjacent to the paved parking area.
