Bike Smith Mountain Lake State Park

Biking is a wonderful activity to do here in the park. All of our gorgeous trails and scenic roadways are wonderful routes to use for an enjoyable ride. With each biking expedition enjoy the breeze, the sun, and all of the exquisite sights, including amazing views of the lake. Bring your own bike and for safety when riding do not forget to wear your helmet and the proper footwear. Some areas of the park are only open from dawn to dusk, so hours will vary with the season.

For the more adventurous, check out the 50-mile-long Smith Mountain Lake Bike Route. Almost nine miles of this route is located inside the park. The remainder of the route is laid out along public roads outside of the park, so be sure to watch for cars and dogs. Brochures outlining the entire route can be obtained at the park's Visitor Center.
