Hungry Mother is pleased to join with the Nature Conservancy of Southwest Virginia to encourage our guests to participate in the City Nature Challenge. Travel around our beautiful park and help record the species found here to contribute to biodiversity records throughout the area. To participate, spot and share what you see on the iNaturalist App (or www.inaturalist.org) during the 2024 Community Nature Challenge.

Make sure to search for 'City Nature Challenge 2024: Southwest Virginia,' then record all your observations of wild plants, insects, and animals you see at Hungry Mother State Park or even just in Smyth County. Come back during April 30 - May 5 to see what all was identified. Let's make Hungry Mother State Park a winner!
