Have you ever wondered why the average American Civil War soldier could only fire three times in a minute? The entire process from start to finish takes about 20 seconds and includes nine different steps! Join our park ranger, who is a certified Historic Weapons Safety Officer, as they demonstrate what it takes to shoot a rifled musket. See the ammunition, examine the procedure necessary, and smell the powder burn at this exciting new program.

This program will include a rifled musket firing. Ear protection is recommended. In the event of inclement weather, portions of this program may be altered or cancelled. Please call the Clover Center at 434-454-4312 for more information.
