Earth Day - The 6 R's of Recycling

Location of Widewater State Park in Virginia

Where

Widewater State Park, 101 Widewater State Park Road, Stafford, VA 22554.
Visitor Center

When

April 20, 2024. 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Join us in celebrating Earth Day by learning about the 6 R's of recycling and what you can do to incorporate them into your daily life!

Many of us grew up with the 3 R's of recycling, right? "Reduce - Reuse - Recycle!" But how many of you know of the other three R's that can be integrated into the rotation?

"Reduce - Return - Reuse - Repurpose - Recycle - Repeat!"

In the Visitor's Center at Widewater you will not only learn about each of the 6 steps involved with the recycling rotation, but you will also be able to make a craft of your choosing incorporating items that are commonly thrown away after a single use. Some of these items include gift tissue paper, paper towel rolls, and cleaned plastic bottles and cans. Supplies may be limited, so if you have one of these items at home that you would like to use in your craft please bring them with you! Just make sure to clean any food and drink items before coming to the event.
