Sew On & Sew Forth

Location of Southwest Virginia Museum in Virginia

Southwest Virginia Museum, 10 West First St. N., Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
Victorian Parlor

When

May 11, 2024. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

A quilter understands the value of preserving the past. Have you ever wanted to learn how to quilt or learn more about some of the quilts you own? If so, join us for our Sew On & Sew Forth quilting program to meet other quilters and give quilting a try.

Do you have a quilt that you're not sure of the pattern, age, or how to properly store it? Join Historic Preservation Specialist Burke Greear and volunteers from 2-3 p.m. Both will be on hand to help with identifying the different patterns of quilts as well as how to properly fold and store them.

There is no charge to attend the Sew On and Sew Forth Quilting program, however, regular admission rates apply for those wishing to tour the museum. The cost is $5/adults, $3/children ages 6-12, under 6 free. Registration is not required.
