Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Try a new angle, like "10 and 2, 10 and 2," and get into the rhythm of fly fishing. The Let's Go Adventures staff will introduce you to the basics, like how to select a rod and reel combo, knot tying, and selecting the right fly for conditions and species. You will practice different types of casting techniques and then get your flies wet as we try to catch your first fish during this 3-hour program. All equipment is provided, and a valid Virginia Freshwater Fishing License is required for participants aged 16 and older. This program is ideal for participants 10 years and older. Group size is limited to 10 participants.

Advance registration at the park office is required.
