Have fun at New River Trail State Park during the Fall and Winter! The Reserve a Ranger program allows families and small groups to schedule fun activities in the park. These programs are offered for a minimum of four people, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and most programs last about one hour. Scheduling is also weather dependent and based on staffing availability. 

Pre-registration is required, so to request a ranger please call (276) 699-6778 and leave a message. Please provide your phone number, number in your group, and a contact phone number. Meeting location will be provided during registration confirmation. Registration is not confirmed until you hear back from a ranger.

- Historic Village of Foster Falls Tour (free, one mile walk on uneven terrain)

- Native Animal Skins and Skulls Demo (free)

- Beginning Birding with a Naturalist (free)
- Van Tour of New River Trail ($15 per person)
