In partnership with the Cumberland County Recreation Department, the second annual Cumberland Plunge will be held at the beach at 2 p.m. Upon the signal, participants will dash into the park's swimming area. A warming bonfire will be on the beach to help dry you off. The event will not be held if the lake is frozen over or in the event of precipitation or winds over 10 miles per hour. There is no registration or fee to participate. Parking is FREE at all Virginia State Parks on January 1, 2024.
