With 400 years of history, there are thousands of stories that the land of Chippokes has to offer. View Quarter Lane in the same light as those who have lived here in the past.
Join a ranger to walk through history, from the mid-1820s through the 1920s, and discover what the existing buildings tell us about the people who lived, worked, and died here at Chippokes.
Plantation owners, enslaved peoples, sharecroppers, and tenant farmers all occupied the many buildings between the River House and the Historic Jones-Stewart Mansion. Meet at the Farm and Forestry Museum Parking Lot. Walk is approximately 0.5 miles.
