Paddling a kayak gives you a new perspective of the world. Paddling safely opens the floodgates to a lifetime of adventures. This 8 hour class will cover the basics of paddling skills including; how to select and fit a PFD, different types of kayaks, planning and safety, and proper paddling strokes. All participants should bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water, sunscreen, and a change of clothing. We will provide all paddles. PFDs, and boats.

When you arrive, please meet at canoe launch parking lot. 

Space is limited, so please reserve your spot today by calling our visitor center (540) 622-6840. Payment must be made at least one day in advance over the phone or in person at the visitor center. You must be at least 10 years old to participate.
