Take a hike with a ranger to celebrate Virginia State Parks and Culture Day. Join along for a moderate four mile hike along Sugar Hill Loop Trail. The hike will take you along the Clinch River, to the top of Sugar Hill to view the old French settlement, and around the mountain side for a special viewing of our own vernal pool. The ranger will talk about the history of both the Clinch River and Sugar Hill, as well as native plants and animals commonly seen. This is a moderate hike, so please wear well-suited shoes, bring some water, and a hiking stick.
