Did you know that Caledon was once the ocean floor? Millions of years ago, Virginia was covered in a shallow sea that was teeming with life, leaving behind prolific fossil beds. Celebrate Dad this Father's Day weekend with a wagon ride down to the Potomac River to find out how these fossils are formed and what types can be found at the park. [Insert your own Dad Joke here.]  Enjoy an easy hike on the beach as we scour the shoreline for these clues to the past. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear close-toed shoes that can get wet.

Reservations are required as space is limited. Call (540)663-3861 or stop by the Visitor Center to reserve your spot. Parking fee is $5.
