Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Celebrate Kids to Parks Day at Leesylvania State Park with a guided canoe trip along Powells Creek. Enjoy an exciting day with an interpreter as we paddle around the creek scoping out nature and learning valuable paddling skills that can make your time in nature much more thrilling.This exclusive Kids to Parks Day program is only for children and their families.

Paddles begin at 11 am and 3 pm. Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult on the program. Spots are limited and are first come, first serve.

Pre-registration is required at the Visitor Center or by calling 703-583-6904 by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 19.
