Location of Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia

Where

Hungry Mother State Park, 2854 Park Blvd., Marion, VA 24354.
Shelter 2

When

July 3, 2023. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Discover your creative side as we discover how we are all natural artists. Nature is made up of colors, shapes, designs, and textures. All we have to do is get outside and look closely to see how nature is art and art is nature.

Activities change weekly. Monday and Wednesday programs are the same to allow for more children to attend. Parents may drop off older elementary aged children but must stay with younger children to assist them in various activities.

If a child completes 8 hours of Jr. Naturalist programming through the summer, they will become a Hungry Mother Jr. Naturalist and will be awarded a certificate along with a patch at the family picnic at the end of the summer.

If you are from out of town and can only come one day, please come to the program and then pick up a Jr. Ranger Booklet (PDF)at the front desk to work on the rest of your patch with your family during the rest of your stay.

Learning about aquatic insects.
