Choose Widewater State Park as your destination to celebrate the 13th Annual National Kids to Parks Day as we spend the day with fun outdoor activities to rekindle our inner child. Check out the National Park Trust's website: Kids to Parks Day
All programs meet outdoors. Please dress accordingly and bring plenty of water.
11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Stories in Stone Discover the Widewater peninsula through the rocks beneath our feet with this interactive rock and mineral program. Listen to the stories our vast Virginia geology has to tell us about the tumultuous history that forged the Chesapeake Bay.
3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Sidewalk Chalk Art Sketch out a path to discover the art of Nature while nurturing your inner artist. Enjoy this fun program as you decorate our sidewalks with your most creative designs. Sidewalk chalk provided for program use only.
Pre-registration required. Limit 30 per program. FREE. Both programs meet at the Visitor Center. Please leave a message on the Visitor Center answering machine (540) 288-1400 with your name, number of people in the group, and your contact information as well as the name, date and time of program.
