Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Mindful Earth Day

Kick off your Earth Day by appreciating the planet with Widewater State Park as we mindfully explore the great outdoors.

11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Earth Day Forest Bathing Walk Join the ranger for an immersive walk on Holly Marsh Trail where you will reconnect with nature through your senses. This light walk will incorporate stretches to help you ease into a grounding and relaxing experience. Wear comfortable hiking shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring water.

3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Earth Day Gentle Yoga This hour-long program invites you to reconnect with nature as we stretch for the sky and flow like a river. No yoga experience required. Bring a mat or towel and wear comfortable clothing.

Pre-registration required. Limit 20 per program. FREE. Both programs meet at the Visitor Center. Please leave a message on the Visitor Center answering machine (540) 288-1400 with your name, number of people in the group, and your contact information as well as the name, date and time of program.
