First Day Hike - Skyline Trail

Enjoy the first day of the new year by joining rangers and volunteers for our annual First Day Hike. This year we will be admiring the Blue Ridge Mountains and beautiful panoramic views from Skyline Trail, which is a 1.6-mile, easy to moderate hike. There is a slight incline to start, but it will even out during the walk. The guided hike should take about 1.5 hours as we journey through the park's forests and meadows in winter. Please dress according to the weather, wear close-toed shoes, and carry water.

Bring the whole family and make a day out of it by checking out one of our other three trails — Blue Ridge Trail (4 mi. loop), Buck Hill Trail (2 mi. loop), or Cedar Creek Trail (1.8 mi. out and back) — after the guided hike. All but Cedar Creek Trail are FREE to explore for today only!
