This How-to series covers the intricate details of the making a net.
Making and repairing netting was an important skill to learn as an Algonquin. They relied heavily upon the Chesapeake Bay for food, and a net was one of the simpler ways to catch dinner. Wares, seines, and cast nets were, and are still popular, and look almost the same to the nets used by the many tribes in Virginia.
Passed down over hundreds of years, you'll learn a skill worthy of posting on the net.
