Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Stand up paddleboards (SUP) are gaining popularity as a way to gain a fresh perspective on Bear Creek Lake. This program will get you started in acquiring the skills to explore comfortably. It starts with standing up on a platform that looks like a wide surfboard. Then learn to turn and return with confidence. Why not join in on the fun? Minimum age for participation is 16 years old. All equipment is provided. There are a limited number of boards available. Advanced registration and payment of the $5 per person fee at the park office is required no later than the day before the program date.
